Демонтаж понад 30 тисяч «хрущовок»: у парламенті відреагували на повідомлення

Information about the alleged intentions of the Verkhovna Rada to demolish over 30,000 so-called “Khrushchyovkas” is untrue. This claim has been called false.

This was announced on the air of “Ranok.LIVE” by the head of the parliamentary Committee on State Building Organization, Olena Shulyak.

Olena Shulyak explained that the figure of over 30,000 objects refers to the total number of dilapidated apartment buildings recorded back in 2019. This list includes buildings of various construction periods, not just “Khrushchyovkas,” specifically, buildings constructed before 1919.

Among the buildings deemed dilapidated are also new buildings constructed in the 2010s.

“This is false. Do not read this news. Some journalist spread false information,” stated the official.

The renovation of outdated buildings is currently relevant again due to difficult winters and the approaching new heating season.

The MP emphasized that the draft law, passed in the first reading, does not provide for the forced or mass demolition of housing stock.

Instead, local authorities are to develop clear mechanisms for the repair, renovation, and reconstruction of outdated buildings. The document also provides for the regulation of the procedure for making these decisions by local self-government bodies and attracting private investors.

“Let’s debunk: no one in Ukraine will demolish 30,000 buildings and build new housing there. We do not have the money to provide housing for our IDPs,” Shulyak concluded.
