Defense forces, within the framework of two stages of the “Auchan” operation, struck 1180 Russian targets, weakening the enemy’s offensive potential on the front line.
This was reported by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, on Telegram.
According to Fedorov, the operation was conducted to asymmetrically weaken the offensive capabilities of Russian troops. For this purpose, the Defense Forces used specially designed drones, intelligence data, and a pre-prepared plan to strike enemy equipment in the deep rear.
Last year, on the initiative of the president and by decision of the Stavka (High Command), additional funding was allocated for the special operation. Within the first stage, over three days, Ukrainian military personnel struck 949 Russian targets.
After the operation, according to the minister’s data, Russian forces withdrew a significant portion of their equipment from the front line. It took months for the enemy to replenish losses, and their mechanized offensive was halted for approximately six months.
A few weeks ago, the Defense Forces repeated the operation. This time, the primary target was Russian artillery, which remains one of the key threats on the battlefield.
For the second stage, a new munition was developed to strike artillery systems. As a result, the military struck 231 targets, of which 171 were destroyed.
In total, over the two stages of the “Auchan” operation, the Defense Forces struck 1180 enemy targets.
“Each such operation is not just destroyed equipment. It’s disrupted enemy plans, fewer opportunities for their offensive, and more chances to save the lives of our soldiers,” emphasized Fedorov.
The operation involved the separate special forces unit Lasar’s Group of the National Guard, the 412th Separate Drone Systems Brigade NEMESIS, and other units of the Defense Forces.
As a reminder, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Defense Forces are consistently destroying Russian military personnel and equipment, disrupting enemy logistics, and striking their military and critical infrastructure.
